Arthur Ashe Boulevard Dedication
The historic Arthur Ashe Boulevard Dedication Ceremony took place at the Virginia Museum of History and Culture on June 22, 2019, before a crowd of hundreds. Congressman John Lewis was the keynote speaker. Local and state speakers included Senator Tim Kaine, Governor Ralph Northam, Arthur Ashe's nephew David O. Harris Jr., Richmond Mayor Levar Stoney, Congressman Donald McEachin, Congressman Bobby Scott; remarks from VMHC President Jamie O. Bosket, and Dominion Energy President & CEO Thomas F. Farrell. There were musical performances by Elegaba Folklore Society and Sixth Mount Zion Baptist choir, The Mount.
