Brown's Island Dam Walk

The Brown's Island Dam Walk also know as the Vepco Levee Dam was constructed across the James River in 1901 and connected Brown's Island to the Manchester District.

The Raging James

The old Vepco Levee Dam connected Brown's Island to Manchester. There is a proposal to restore this bridge to a pedestrian walkway where people can walk from Brown's Island to south of the James River. On this fall morning the trees along the south banks of the James River are glowing with fall colors.
