Abstract Raindrops

Painterly Ice Abstract

This abstract was created by freezing red poinsettia leaves in ice. Once the ice melted I photographed the ice trails, and later edited the image to a painterly abstract.

Ginkgo Trees Abstract

There is a grove of 300 Ginkgo Trees at the State Arboretum of Virginia, Boyce Virginia. The Virginia General Assembly designated 172 acres of Blandy Experimental Farm as the State Arboretum of Virginia, in 1982. Blandy Experimental Farm is a 712-acre University of Virginia research facility. The farm is open from dusk to dawn 365 days a year. I visited the Ginkgo Grove in late October when the ginkgo leaves ere yellow and partially covering the ground. On this visit, I decided to photography the ginkgo trees with intentional camera movement, which created this abstract.

Flowing

Blue sky and wind created small fluid waves in the waters of a pond at Moorefield Office Park. The reflection of surrounding green leaves on the trees add to this fluid abstract. Moorefield Office Park is located in North Chesterfield, Virginia

Fluid Water Abstract

The evening sun and blue sky are reflected in the water, creating a fluid, swirly abstract movement. The ponds at the Arboretum in Chesterfield County are one of my favorite locations to find various scenes for nature photography.

Winter Fading to Spring

Intentional camera movement of the trees at Moorefield Business Park, reflected in the lake. Moorefield Business Park is located in Chesterfield County, Virginia Ironically that I've walked around this lake numerous times with my camera, and on this late winter evening, I decided to try ICM, where some of the trees were still had their bare winter look, and some of the trees were spouting spring greenery. The result is an abstract look of tall trees

Maiden Ornamental Grass
