Japanese Sea Nettle

The Japanese Sea Nettle has a light colored bell shaped dome with dark orange brown lines extending from its center dome. This jelly has long tentacles. You will find this the Japanese Sea Nettle in the Pacific ocean and in aquariums. I photographed this jelly in the National Aquarium in Baltimore, Maryland at the Jellies Invasion exhibit.

Pacific Sea Nettles

Pacific Sea Nettles are jellyfish with a reddish-brown bell-shaped dome. There tentacles can grow as long at 15 feet. These jellies are found on the west coast, and are found in many marine aquariums. Chrysaora fuscescens is the scientific name for pacific sea nettles. I photographed these jells at the Jellies Invasion exhibit at the National Aquarium in Baltimore, Maryland.

Purple-Striped Jelly

The purple striped jelly is an invertebrate with a white bowled shaped bell with sixteen strips. It also has long tentacles. Its scientific name is Chrysaora colorata. I photographed this jelly at the Jellies Invasion exhibit at the National Aquarium in Baltimore, Maryland.

Large Sea Turtle

The Kemp Ridley sea turtle is one of the smallest of the sea turtles. This sea turtle is in the Chesapeake Light Tower at the Virginia Aquarium, in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Kumbali at Rest

Kumbali is one of the several cheetahs at the Richmond Metro Zoo, yet he resides with his friendly companion Kago, a lab-mixed dog (not pictured). Cheetahs are large cats, and the fastast land animal. On my visit to the Zoo, Kumbali posed patiently for my camera.

Posing Orangutan

Orangutans are known for their red fur, and they are the largest arboreal mammal. This adult orangutan at the Richmond Metro Zoo appeared to posed for perhaps a nice headshot portrait. The Richmond Metro Zoon is located in Mosely, Virginia, just a few miles outside of Richmond, Virginia.

Chimpanzee

Chimpanzee is a species of ape that is the most closely related to humans. Perhaps this is why these strong mammals are friendly to humans. As chimpanzee age the hair on their backs turn grey. This chimpanzee at the Richmodn Metro Zoo shows signs of aging by its thinning grey hair on his face and head. The Richmond Metro Zoo is located in Moseley, Virginia

A blue and gold Macaw indulges in small snack at the Richmond Metro Zoo, in Moseley, Virginia. The Blue and Gold Macaw is a large South American parrot with a slight green and most blue upper body; and gold color on its underparts.

Baby Lamb

A baby lamb stands among grass on a rainy day in the fields at Historic Tuckahoe. Lambs are some of the farm animals that eat the weeds and grass in the fields at Historic Tuckahoe. This lone lamb takes a break on a rainy afternoon to stare at my camera lens. Historic Tuckahoe was the boyhood home of Thomas Jefferson in suburbs of Richmond, Virginia.
