Washington National Cathedral
The Washington National Cathedral is sixth largest cathedral in the world, and second largest in the United States. Most of the decorative elements have Christian symbolism or are memorials to famous persons or events. My first visit to the cathedral was on a photography tour. On this tour I was amazed at the sever story vaulted ceilings and the beautiful stained glass windows. On a sunny day the sun creates beautiful colors through the windows. I was a bit disappointed that my first visit to the interior was on an over cast morning. There are several chapels and so many details in the beautiful building, that I would love to visit this place on another day to capture the details
