International Day of the Girl
In celebration of International Day of the Girl, and Let Girls Learn, First Lady Michelle Obama hosted a special screening of CNN's film, "We Will Rise: Michelle Obama's Mission to Educate Girls Around the World". This event took place on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 in the East Room of the White House.
The event included a panel discussion with CNN Journalist Isha Sesay, Meryl Streep and girls from Liberia and Morocco. The panel discussion was followed by CNN Worldwide President Jeff Zucker, a performance by Andra Day, who sang the theme song of the film, "I Rise"; and remarks by First Lady Michelle Obama
