About Me

Ava Reaves Images specializes in landscape and photojournalism photography in Richmond, Virginia and surrounding areas. If you’re interested in landscapes for a business or personal project, I’m ready to come aboard with my work.

My photography journey began in high school with a Brownie Kodak camera capturing fun moments. Once I retired from Verizon in 2009, I purchased a DSLR and enjoyed capturing Virginia’s colorful urban and rural scenes. I use my photography to learn more about places that I was not able to see as a child.

My project of over 100 images of the James River Park System is on permanent display at VCU’s Health System in Short Pump. My commissioned projects included capturing stock images for the Virginia Capitol Foundation. My work has been featured with Scenic Virginia and at Art Works for the Governor’s “Flood Week” exhibition.

I am also a Freelance Photographer; and currently on the White House media list. Also I was on the Richmond Free Press team that received awards from the Virginia Press Association for our coverage of Virginia Governor Ralph Northam’s Inauguration and the First African Landing at Fort Monroe. I am based in Richmond, Virginia. If you need my photography services don’t hesitate to get in touch for more information
